~An hour later, within the hospital Emma work in
Eric and Chan walked into the hospital, where Emma works. Chan was here to pick up, he and Emma’s kids. Emma had a night shift today, she went to pick up the children from school and went straight to work, taking them with her, where she kept them at the nurses’ reception and go check up on them, ever ten or fifteen minutes, until Chan finished work for the day and come and pick up the kids, from the hospital. But before going to pick up the kids, Chan decided to go tell Emma about it first. Chan and Eric found Emma near Hailey’s bed, within the hospital. Hailey has been unconscious for days, she still hasn’t woken up.
“Hey” Chan said
“Hey babe” Emma replied, she and Chan kissed on the lips.
Chan took a look at Hailey’s room. Chan isn’t interest in what happened to her.
“Rough day?” Chan asked
“Hailey is still unconscious. She has been like that for days.” Emma said softly “If we didn’t cut her off, she probably won’t be like this today. She was pregnant, but she lost her baby, due to the internal injury that was done to her.”
“What happened?” Eric said
“She probably got bashed up. I know her. I am guessing it is her husband’s handy work.” Emma replied.
“Nobody is able to help her, until she is willing to help herself. There is nothing we can do. It is just a matter of time, until something this bad happens.” Chan replied
“Then why do I feel so guilty.” Emma replied
“Because, you are kind, that is why. But this is not your fault, she is not our responsibility. You got nothing to feel guilty about.” Chan replied.
“I still feel guilty.” Emma said.
Emma walked closer towards Hailey’s bed. Hailey wasn’t in a hospital room of her owns, she was in a room that she shares with ten other patients.
“Doesn’t she have anybody, to take care of her?” Eric asked
“She got no family.” Emma replied
“I guess she got another reason, why she wanted to stay in that relationship, companionship.” Chan replied
“You know her?” Eric replied
“Slightly” Chan said
“Look, don’t beat yourself up over this, Ok babe?” Chan said to Emma.
Emma nodded.
“The children are at the nurses’ desk.” Emma said
“Thanks” Chan replied.
A few minutes later Tang walked into the room. “Hey, what up?” Tang said to Chan
“Oh, hi” Chan replied
“Who is this guy?” Tang asked, looking at Eric
“Ah this is Eric, he works with me. He is giving me a ride today, because my car broke down this morning.” Chan said
“Oh, hi Eric, how are you doing man.” Tang replied
“I am fine, thank you.” Eric replied
“So, Miss Walker still hasn’t woken up?” Eric asked
“No, she is still unconscious.” Emma replied
“Well, she is in a stable condition. It’s just going to take a few days, for her to wake up and then she will be fine.” Tang said “Don’t beat yourself up over this, alright Emma? There is nothing you could have done, to prevent this.” Tang said
“Thanks” Emma said
“She is very beautiful” Eric said, he took a seat next to Hailey’s bed.
“Yeah, I know. She is quiet something alright. Too bad she is…god know what? Beat the hell out of me.” Tang said
“You know? We have to help her. I mean…” Eric isn’t sure how to finish his sentence.
“And how are you planning to do that.” Chan asked
“I don’t know. I’ll think of something.” Eric said
“Well, good luck with that son. Hope you succeed. But first, you need to get rid of your gambling problem.” Chan said
“Yes, I know sir.” Eric said
“Well, hopefully this will be a good motivation for you then.” Chan smiled and said
“You know what? I heard you say there is nobody there to take care of this poor girl, because she got nobody. You know what? I’ll stay and take care of her.” Eric said
“You want to take care of Hailey?” Chan frowned said
“Yap, I’ll spend all of spare time here.” Eric said
“You do know that, she would be in hospital, for at least a month, right?” Emma frowned and said
“I’m fine with it.” Eric replied
“Ok, well, I guess it is good news then.” Emma said
