~Later onwards that night, Sydney.
Zack droved his car, into the suburbs and parked it beside the street. He was there to do something for his father, to deliver Hailey and Nichole, some food. Hailey and Nichole were staying at Hailey’s apartment in Sydney and they were both quiet shaken up by what happened. There was suppose to be round the clock police protection for Hailey and Nichole, but the uniformed police officer, who was suppose to be on guard outside the apartment, was been called away on a nearby crisis, due to police under staff.
Zack walked up the stairs and knocked on the door, of Hailey’s apartment, but the door was unlocked.
Zack frowned “That is weird.” He thought to himself. Zack put the food upon the ground and pushed the door opened.
“Hello?” Zack said the room was all dark.
“Hello” Zack said again, as he looked for the switch to open the light.
Suddenly, a figure charged towards Zack, attacking him.
Zack dogged away. The figure, obviously knows how to fight. It charged towards Zack throwing a few kicks towards Zack in the air. Zack dogged to the left and then throw two boxing punches towards the figure. The figure blocked those two punches, also with boxing technique. Then, it tried to nail Zack in his balls, with its knee. Zack blocked the punch with his palm and then he threw one kick and one punch towards the figure. The figure quickly dogged backwards and threw a kick back, but Zack blocked that attack and threw two kicks back, the first landed on the figure’s head and the other one landed on its stomach. The figure threw one kick towards Zack from the ground. Zack dogged backwards. The figure got back to its feet. It tried to kick Zack, but Zack made one smooth move, to the side and then he hit the figure’s face, with his elbow and then flop the figure to the ground, nailing it to the ground.
A few seconds later, the lights opened. It was Hailey, opening the lights. Zack looked at the figure, it was Susan.
“Detective Stone?” Zack frowned and said and then he let go of Susan.
Susan turned around and saw Zack, “What are you doing here?” Susan asked
“My dad asked me to swine by, to bring Nichole that Aboriginal food, she say she wants to try. It is home made.” Zack said
“I thought you were an assassin.” Susan said, as Zack helped her back to her feet.
“I thought you were an assassin. Now, I don’t know the law, but you can not possibly prosecute me for assaulting a police officer for that. No way can anyone, possibly expect you are a cop, under that circumstance. In fact, it would be a miracle, if anybody won’t think you are an assassin.” Zack said, defending himself
“Let’s just pretend that didn’t happen, should we?” Susan said
“Gladly” Zack replied, as he went to grab the food from the floor
“That was some pretty good fighting you showed there.” Susan said
“Six years as a commission rank officer, within the Special forces, three tours of duty, to Iraq and two tours of duty, to Afghanistan. You pick up a few tricks. I am supposed to be promoted to Major, by the end of this month, if there is a vacancy. But shouldn’t there be uniform cops outside?” Zack said
“They were been called away, on an emergency. This suburb has the highest crime rate in the entire State, yet the police are the most understaffed here. I am the only protection these girls got, for the time been.” Susan said
“Have you found Rita Zhan yet?” Zack said
“No, we have been looking everywhere, for her. It is like she disappeared from earth. I send Edward to go pick up Patrick, but now he is missing too. He should have reported back one hour ago.” Susan said
“Did Edward go along?” Zack asked
“Yes, we expected minimum threat from Patrick Fan, so, with our number been understaffed, we send Edward there along.” Susan said
“I think Edward has been ambushed, by Rita Zhan.” Zack said
“What do you mean?” Susan said
“You think about it. Rita Zhan might be smart, evil and cunning, but she is still not that good. She needs Patrick Fan’s support. The chances are she would try to convince Patrick Fan, to be on her side again, with what Patrick Fan wanted. So, when Edward showed up along, Rita Zhan ambushed him, when she saw Edward going to arrest Patrick. It is not impossible and in my opinion, it is highly possible.” Zack said
“What can Rita Zhan promise Patrick Fan that can gain his support?” Susan asked
“She promised him that, he can get Nichole Stanmore dead.” Zack said
Susan frowned “Rita Zhan was already there, by the time Edward got there and she was well prepared enough, to ambush Edward, so when she saw Edward there, she ambushed him.” Susan said to herself and then she was quick, to reach for her police radio and gave the people on the other end of the line, a bunch of instructions.
“Come on, first thing first, we are going to take these girls, down to the police station, for their own safety. Then we are going to, go find my son.” Susan said
Less then a few minutes later, Susan, Nichole, Hailey and Zack walked out of the building and onto the streets, they were walking quickly. The uniformed police officer, that should be on guard, outside Hailey’s apartment, has just returned.
“Your transportation is ready for you, Serge.” The uniformed officer said, then suddenly, the uniformed police officer, was been shot in the head and died.
“Get down!” Susan and Zack yelled in the same time, pushing Nichole and Hailey down with them.
“Sniper” Zack said
Susan quickly reached for her radio, to call for backup.
“Not really great sniper. They are over there, behind those cars, on the other side of the street. Rita Zhan, Patrick Fan and their goons are all there.” Zack said
Rita, Patrick and their goons started opening fire towards Zack, Susan, Hailey and Nichole.
“You can use a gun, right?” Susan asked Zack
“Yeah, why?” Zack replied.
Susan quickly handed Zack, the dead police officer’s hand gun.
“This is not Afghanistan. I don’t have a fire armed license. I don’t think I am allowed to fire a weapon, outside the military.” Zack replied
“For crying out loud, do you want to die? Now, give me a hand.” Susan said
Zack grabbed the gun and started helping Susan with the gun fight. Rita, Patrick and their goons, obviously have more fire power. All Zack and Susan can do, is to defend, until reinforcement arrived.
“Conserve your ammo. We are going to need it.” Susan said
“I got an idea.” Zack said “You hold them off here, I’ll be back soon, cover me.”
Susan continued the gun fight against her opponents. Zack ran a bit down the street, using the darkness of the night as cover, not letting his opponents see him. Then, he crossed the street and sneaked close enough towards Rita, Patrick and their goons. Zack opened two shots and killed, Ben and Harry. Rita, Patrick and their remaining goons, soon responded and opened fire towards Zack. Zack quickly dogged behind a car.
The sound of police siren was appearing from behind.
“Let’s go.” Patrick said, with that Patrick, Rita and their goons, retreat into the darkness.
Susan and Zack did not chase after them. They didn’t have enough ammo, to take that risk. The reinforcement police soon arrived. There were at least sixteen police officers on the scene. They each had a rifle in his or her hand and wearing body armor, followed by four ambulances.
“I better not get in trouble with the law for this.” Zack said when he and Susan met up again.
“Get in trouble with the law, for what?” Susan asked
“For firing, a fire arm, without a fire arm license.” Zack said
“Relax, I will speak for you. You’ll be fine.” Susan said then Susan turned to one of the uniform police officer. “Get them out of here quick.” Susan said pointing towards Zack, Hailey and Nichole.
“Yes, boss.” The uniformed police officer said, she quickly lead Nichole, Hailey and Zack into an ambulance and prepared to drive it off.
“Zack” Susan quickly yelled to him, before the ambulance drive off.
“What?” Zack responded
“Thanks for lending me a hand, with the gun fight, a minute ago.” Susan said
“Hey, I want to survive too, you know?” Zack said.
The ambulance drove off, with Zack, Susan and Nichole inside it.
“Boss, it might be, a bit too dangerous, to go after them, in the night, in a suburb like this, consider the fire power they got. We better wait till the morning.” A police officer said to Susan
“I want those criminals found and captured now, dead or alive!” Susan said angrily
“Yes, boss” the police officer replied
Five minutes later, even more cops arrived and every one of them was wearing armor. One thing these police, don’t allow, is a cop killer and they were firm to capture Rita, Patrick and their goons. There were cops everywhere, sealing off at least a three miles radius. Five police helicopters, has also arrived as air support.
However, Patrick Fan have already prepared a good exit plan and managed to escape ages ago. Nobody ever found out how Patrick Fan, Rita Zhan and their goons managed to get out of there, but they did. The police searched till the early morning of the following day, until they finally called off the search.
