Epilogue

~Ten years later Saturday afternoon, 16th December, Hawaii

Hailey looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a white wedding dress. She was in a tent. She was getting married today. The wedding was been hold on a beach. Eight years has past, since her encounter with Rita and her history with Sam. Hailey put all of those behind her, but it is a part of her history and it changed her forever. Hailey is much wiser now. She is a different girl, from what she used to be, strong, confident and post modern. Hailey is a smart girl and without the self destructive values that she once had, such as those believes, that lead her to trap herself in that abusive relationship with Sam, Hailey is using her talents to her full advantage.

“Well, look at yourself, don’t you look beautiful.” Emma walked into the tent and said “Are you ready to get married?” Emma said

Ming, who is now fourteen years old, followed her mother into the room. “All the guests are waiting.” Ming said “They want me to check up on the bride, to see whether she is alright.”

“I’ll be fine, I am ready.” Hailey said

“Cool” Ming said “Yap, she is ready!” Ming yelled, as she walked away from the tent

“So, how are your kids?” Hailey asked

“Not bad, Long is getting straight A in school. He would be in year twelve next year. Ming won that bronze metal in fencing, within the Common Wealth games, so not bad. She wants to compete in Judo next time. I prefer if she just stick to one thing.” Emma said

“It’s a good thing that she knows how to fight.” Hailey replied

“Not really, because she knows how to fight, she would intentionally go out into the city these days, wearing some very expensive jewelry or revealing cloth, to lure bad people, to come try to rob or rape her and then she would use that as an excuse, to bash them up, in the name of self defense, for fun. She says it is exercise. If I knew she would do something like that, I would not have let her learn how to fight, to begin with.” Emma said

Outside the tent, the guest had all been seated. Tang stood beside the public toilet and waited for her daughter Flora to come out. A few minutes later, Flora, a ten years old girl, walked out of the toilet with Susan.

“Daddy” Flora grabbed Tang’s leg and said

Flora is not Tang’s biological daughter. She is Bill’s biological child. After Bill died, her daughter got nobody left in the world and no relative left either. Knowing how seriously sick she is, Tang adopted Flora and took her back to Hong Kong and cured her disease. Tang insist for Flora to keep her English name, saying it is important, for her to stay connected to her roots and made her take English lessons. But Flora is not the type of kid that likes to study very much and prefer to speak Cantonese, instead.

“Thanks” Tang said to Susan.

“No worries.” Susan replied, she gotten much older within the past ten years. Susan retired from the police force, three years ago, although six month ago, she was been recalled from retirement, to be the consultant, in the investigation of a triple homicide case.

“Come on, let’s go sit down.” Tang said, grabbing Flora up into his arm and went to find a seat.

“Tang Wong? How are you?” Nichole’s voice burst into existence from behind

“Nichole Stanmore. How are you doing?” Tang smiled and said

Nichole took a look at Flora. Standing beside Nichole, was her ten years old daughter, which Nichole named after her mother, Sabrina. Nichole was been pregnant with Patrick’s child, from ten years ago, when she was been captured. Nichole originally wanted to get rid of the baby, by giving her up for adoption after birth, but right after the baby is born, Nichole realized that, she can’t get rid of her. Nichole took over, her father’s trucking company and raised her daughter along. Nichole dumped Michael, because he is anything but nice to her child.

“It is good to see you again.” Nichole said

“Yeah, same here, it’s been a long time. I haven’t seen you, since, ten years ago. This is your daughter?” Tang said

“Yeah, her name is Sabrina. I named her after my mother.” Nichole said

“That is nice.” Tang replied

“Ladies and gentlemen, can you all be seated, please? We are about to start.” Muhammad went to the microphone and said.

Everybody went to their seat.

Fatima and Tom went back into the bride’s tent. Hailey was standing there, ready to go out.

“Ready to go?” Fatima asked, she was wearing a bride maid dress

“Ready” Hailey said

“Don’t forget your flowers.” Emma said she was also wearing a bride maid dress.

“Thanks” Hailey took the flowers and said and then she smelled it “Lily, my favor.” Hailey said

Hailey took Tom’s hand, and they walked out of the tent together.

Outside the tent, the song of wedding march was been played and everybody stood up, for the bride’s arrival. Tom took the place of Hailey’s father and walked her down the ailed.

Everybody in Eric’s family, are happy that, Eric could have a mentor like Daniel, all except for Eric’s, western conservative extremist grandmother, who found it to be a disturbing, because Eric is white and Daniel is from India, due to the influence of western conservative believe, of the west is suppose to be the parent and none west is suppose to be the child.

The person, who was going to marry, Hailey and Eric, isn’t a priest, but it was Chan. Chan was flattered, when Hailey and Eric asked him to married them. Chan always wanted to be the person that married a couple. Chan conducted the ceremony, according to Western wedding custom. Chan had a friend of his, who is a Catholic priest, writing down the wedding procedure for him, in prior.

“You may now kiss the bride.” Chan finally said, in the end.

Eric kissed Hailey on the lips and then they walked away, from the wedding together.

“Well, now, to the best part of a wedding, well, for me, the second best part of this wedding, since I get to married them, the reception, it is an all you can eat buffet.” Chan joke
